How it works

An agent in the browser you already use.

See how OpenBUA's free browser extension uses your signed-in sessions, memory, and live research previews. Start with the Gemini free tier or optional BYOK.

Free to download. Start with the Gemini free tier, or optionally use your own AI provider.

01

Start with your real browser

OpenBUA runs as a Chrome extension with a side panel. Open the pages you want to use and sign in normally. The agent works with those existing sessions, which means your research, webmail, and application pages can stay in the same browser.

02

Give it a task and context

Describe your goal, the information it should use, and where it should pause. Add a resume, product brief, or other document when the task needs it. Global Memory stores reusable background; Tab Memory keeps project-specific notes with the current conversation.

03

Let it navigate and work

The agent inspects page content, follows links, switches tabs, fills fields, and works through multi-step tasks. It can build a research table, prepare an email, or fill a social post composer. Its live Preview tab lets you inspect structured findings as they appear.

04

Choose your level of autonomy

Use Ask for review in Settings when you want it to pause before final submissions or major actions. Choose Full access when you want OpenBUA to send, post, and submit as part of your task without waiting for separate approvals. Your instructions can still include specific stopping points.

Start for free with Gemini

OpenBUA is free to download. Choose Gemini's free tier and connect a free Google AI Studio API key to try browser tasks. Free-tier usage limits apply. You can also choose an optional BYOK provider; paid model usage follows that provider's pricing. Browser actions run on your device, while task context is sent to your configured AI provider for model inference.

Let it work while you sleep

Enable Full access and let OpenBUA continue a task while you are away or asleep. Keep your computer awake and browser running: execution happens locally. Login challenges, CAPTCHAs, or missing details may still need your input. Closing the browser or putting the computer to sleep stops local execution.

Choose a first workflow

Start with a clear, bounded task: shortlist five job openings, compare three competitors, or draft outreach to a few relevant prospects. Browse practical use cases for examples you can adapt.
