Web research

Go from open tabs to a research brief.

Compare competitors, research products, and summarize multiple websites into sourced tables with OpenBUA's AI browser agent and live preview.

Free to download. Start with the Gemini free tier, or optionally use your own AI provider.

Less repetition. More progress.

Research gets messy when the answers are spread across pricing pages, documentation, community discussions, and directories. OpenBUA moves through those sources in your own browser and turns what it finds into an organized brief you can inspect as it develops.

  • ✓Compare information across websites
  • ✓Watch findings appear in the live preview
  • ✓Keep project context in Tab Memory

The workflow

  1. 01

    Set the research question

Start with a decision you need to make and the fields that matter. For a competitor comparison, specify features, pricing, target customer, and evidence links. Define which sources to prefer and which gaps should remain marked as unknown.

  2. 02

    Navigate and compare

Let OpenBUA visit the relevant pages, switch tabs, and inspect results across pagination. Ask it to distinguish a company's own claims from observations in community discussions. The Preview tab displays structured findings while research is still running.

  3. 03

    Keep a reusable brief

Request a summary that explains the main differences and links back to supporting pages. Copy the Markdown table from Preview and save project notes in Tab Memory. Continue with narrower questions using the context you have already collected.

Try a prompt like this

“Compare five customer feedback tools for a small SaaS team. Use their official feature and pricing pages. Make a table of plans, feedback collection methods, integrations, and source URLs. Mark information you cannot verify, then summarize the tradeoffs.”

Common questions

Can I see results before the task finishes?

Yes. OpenBUA's live research preview streams structured Markdown and table rows as the agent inspects sources, so you can follow the research rather than waiting for a final response.

Does it work across multiple browser tabs?

OpenBUA supports opening, switching, and coordinating tabs during a multi-step task. Give it a clear research question so the final result connects those sources.

Can I export the research?

You can copy Markdown from the Preview tab and paste it into your notes or documents. Ask the agent to include source links so the brief stays easy to verify.
